More About Jathan Rafael Sanchez:

Jathan started to learn tango in 1995. Over the years, he has become a skilled and noted leader and follower, in both his dancing and teaching. In 2006, he won first prize at the National Tango Salon Championship of Mexico. He has performed with the most important Mexican tango companies and was invited to take on the roles of advisor, judge and coordinating judge at the National Dance Association. He was the first to promote same-sex and double-role tango in Mexico. He was invited to launch the first Queer Tango Week in Austin, Texas, and was a guest performer and teacher at the ninth Queer Tango Festival of Buenos Aires. Jathan created his own dance company and was recently invited to join the UNESCO International Dance Council. Besides his dancing and teaching activities, Jathan runs his own health clinic, specializing in massage and alternative therapies.
