Kids Ballet with UTEP Continuing Education

Basic Ballet - Ages 5-6 (Registration for Fall 2018)

Interpretive movement, creative games, and solid ballet technique will introduce your child to the art of dance.  Our ballet for ages 5-6 follows a basic ballet syllabus that includes plies, tendus, chasses, gallops skips, and other preparatory ballet exercises that will lead to further studies in dance.       

Ballet 1 - Ages 7-9 (Registration for Fall 2018)

Dancers will learn the center work, movement, spacing, as well as strong ballet technique and dance knowledge. Students in this class will learn about musicality and to execute basic movements in ballet that are needed for further studies.

Studio Dress Code & Etiquette

Dress Code:

  • Basic Ballet Ages 5-6:  Light pink leotard, light pink tights, pink ballet shoes

  • Ballet 1 Ages 7-9: Light pink leotard, light pink tights, pink ballet shoes

  • Boys:  White T-shirt, black tights, black ballet shoes

  • Hair must be worn in a bun. Short hair must be pulled away from face.

  • Adults may wear leotard and tights or form fitting clothing, hair in a bun or pulled off face, and ballet shoes.

  • Note: the studio has ballet shoes and leotards available for purchase.


  • If you have an injury prior to class, let the teacher know that you may not do everything full out.

  • Think positive! You can do this!

  • Please bring a water bottle, but no food or gum! 

  • Keep jewelry to minimum. 

  • Silence cell phones

  • If you arrive late, you need to check with the teacher to see if it’s okay for you to join.
